The UI design work we did for the first Microsoft Band was the foundation for the UI system of the Band 2. The basic navigation, interaction model, tile structures, and design language remained the same. 

Using hands-on research, user testing, and feedback from the first Band, we learned that there were some simple visual design changes we could make to increase legibility on the device. Based on these findings, we decided to overhaul the color themes and also create new background designs.

For the launch of Band 2, we also did a light visual refresh of the app by updating the font ramp and color system.
